Erie School Board member John Harkins, a Democrat, said today that he is seeking the required 500 signatures to get on the April 24 primary ballot for state Senate in the 49th District.
The seat is now held by Sen. Jane Earll, R-Fairview Township, who is not seeking a fifth term.

Peek‘n Peak Resort and Spa in Findley Lake, N.Y., says it’s the only ski area in the eastern United States that is entirely open for business.
