Erie area native Tyler Addison James performing his latest song.

T. James (best known as the lead singer of the now disbanded Erie rock band Radio Emprie) has released his first solo song to the world - and it’s delightfully different than anything he has ever done in the past. Be sure to check it out.

While you are at it, who are some other enjoyable Erie area artists?

Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Alice Cooper will return to Erie on Saturday, Dec. 10, at 8 p.m. at the Warner Theatre.

Tickets, priced at $56 and $39.50, will go on sale Friday at the Tullio Arena box office, by phone at 452-4857, and online at www.erieevents.com.

Cooper is calling this the “No More Mr. Nice Guy” tour, though he’s on the road behind the just-released “Welcome 2 My Nightmare,” a sequel to his 1975 concept album, “Welcome to My Nightmare.”

Cooper’s band includes hot-shot guitarist Orianthi, 26. She’s opened for Steve Vai, performed with Carrie Underwood and shared the stage with Santana and Michael Jackson. She also played with Cooper when he did “School’s Out” on the 2010 season finale of “American Idol.”

Longtime Cooper bassist Chuck Garric, guitarist Steve Hunter (Lou Reed, Cooper), drummer Glen Soble and Tommy Henrikson, who plays on the new album, are also in the band.. Cooper and company played last Friday on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.”

Cooper, meanwhile, has been in the news a bit more than usual lately. He recently invited Johnny Depp onstage in London and previously hung out backstage with Lady Gaga.

Don’t forget about Erie’s other announced new concert: Queensryche on Oct. 28 at the Bayfront Covention Center. Tickets, $40, go on sale Thursday at the same places as above.

For those of you who were left disappointed by Train concert cancellation this past weekend.

Train brings sentimental journey to Erie
Rock star and part-time marriage facilitator Pat Monahan returns home Saturday.
Train will pull into Tullio Arena and, odds are, some couple will get engaged when the group performs recent hit “Marry Me.”
Throughout the band’s tour — especially in smaller venues — guys have popped the question to that song, which Monahan debuted at the Girard wedding of actor Marc Blucas.
“It’s fun, like it’s going to give people good luck,” Monahan said by phone. “While many people are losing faith in marriage, there is, I think, a great beauty to it, for them to make a proposal. It’s happened quite a lot.”

Erie area native Pat Monahan and his band Train are coming home to performe at the Tulio on Saturday at 8 PM. The seats are not sold out yet, so be sure to purchase your tickets (or check out Stub Hub!)
